We all know how hard it is to eat healthy during this pandemic. I found myself not caring about what I’m putting in my body and it definitely affected my skin. The grease, saturated fats, and salts caused my skin not only to break out, but it became dry and dull. Keep reading to find out how healthy food can result in better skin.

When I realized what was happening, I became more conscious of nutrition. Not only is it important to fuel your body properly, but food can also affect your mood. What made it even easier to convert to a healthy diet was my family. We had decided to eat better together and having a good support system extremely helps.

Moderation

Now I’m not saying you can’t have any form of carbs and only eat veggies, it’s all about moderation. It’s totally okay to treat yourself occasionally. One of the biggest factors that changed my skin was making sure that I had a serving of veggies/ fruits at every meal/ in a snack. It’s as simple as switching out a large fries for berries and yogurt or maybe celery and peanut butter. And if you really feel dedicated, spending even 2-3 minutes on Pinterest can find some really interesting treats. Here’s a link to my favorite strawberry yogurt snacks 🙂 https://www.sixsistersstuff.com/recipe/skinny-frozen-strawberry-bites/

All the frying oils, excess salt, and unnecessary sugars that come with fast foods can cause breakouts, abnormally dry/oily skin, dull skin, and just makes you feel tired. And it’s not just your face we’re talking about. Your entire body can feel fatigued.

Another key element in keeping healthy skin is drinking enough water, but that is too big a topic to cover in this post, so keep an eye out for that post coming up soon 😉
